What is SAHPRA?
The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) is the statutory body responsible for regulating medicines, medical devices, and complementary health products in South Africa. SAHPRA falls under the Department of Health and ensures that all health products available to South Africans are safe, effective, and of acceptable quality.
Only medications that have been evaluated and registered by SAHPRA may be legally prescribed and dispensed in South Africa. Chyna operates in full compliance with SAHPRA's requirements.
Our Medications
Every medication available through Chyna is SAHPRA-registered and prescribed by a licensed South African doctor. We do not offer any unregistered, grey-market, or imported medicines. All medications are dispensed by accredited South African pharmacies.

Our Doctors
All medical practitioners on the Chyna platform are:
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
- Qualified medical doctors with valid practising certificates
- Experienced in men's health and the treatment areas offered on our platform
- Independently operating practitioners who exercise independent clinical judgement
Chyna does not employ doctors. They are independent practitioners who use our platform to connect with patients. They are fully accountable to the HPCSA and their professional obligations.
Prescription Process
Every prescription issued through Chyna follows the legally required process:
- Patient completes a detailed health assessment
- A licensed doctor reviews the assessment and may request additional information
- The doctor conducts a virtual consultation (asynchronous or synchronous)
- If clinically appropriate, the doctor issues a prescription via the HPCSA-compliant system
- The prescription is transmitted to an accredited pharmacy for dispensing
- Medication is packaged discreetly and couriered to the patient
No prescription is ever generated automatically. Every prescription is the result of a genuine clinical assessment by a licensed practitioner.
Pharmacy Partners
Chyna partners exclusively with South African pharmacies that are registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). All partner pharmacies are inspected and accredited, and operate in compliance with the Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974 and associated regulations.
